FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, OCT. 23, 2025, VANCOUVER BC – Today, CentreBC released a clear, measurable pass/fail framework for any proposed pipeline to the North Coast, calling on the BC Conservatives and NDP to stop feeding polarization and start building a responsible path forward in the national interest.
“While the Conservatives shout ‘build at any cost’ and the NDP says ‘never’, British Columbians are saying ‘do it right, or don’t do it,’” said Karin Kirkpatrick, Leader of CentreBC. “Our five conditions make that real; with Indigenous co-ownership, world-class safeguards and a sovereign fund that accelerates Canada’s clean-energy future without leaving our kids in debt.”
A recent Angus Reid poll shows Canadians, including many in B.C., are open to a northern pipeline if it is developed properly, and are wary of shortcuts. “The public is ahead of the politicians,” Kirkpatrick added.
“They want a serious plan, not performative politics.”
