Our Policy Philosophy & Process
As a new political movement, CentreBC is doing something different from traditional parties. Rather than beginning with ideology and then searching for evidence to support predetermined conclusions, we begin with values, evidence, and meaningful consultation.
Our goal is not to promise everything to everyone. It is not to craft policies that generate headlines, inflame divisions, or win short-term political points. Our goal is to develop practical solutions that improve the lives of British Columbians and stand up to serious scrutiny.
CentreBC was founded on the belief that good policy emerges when diverse perspectives are brought to the same table. That means listening to experts, stakeholders, communities, and everyday British Columbians who are directly affected by the challenges we face.
Every policy proposal is evaluated through a consistent framework that asks fundamental questions:
- Does it reflect our values of balance, fairness, and responsibility?
- Is it supported by credible evidence and sound analysis?
- Is it fiscally responsible and sustainable?
- Can it realistically be implemented?
- Will it leave British Columbia stronger for future generations?
We believe British Columbians deserve more than politics driven by ideology, outrage, or endless opposition.
While some parties focus primarily on criticizing their opponents, CentreBC is focused on building solutions.
That doesn’t mean we will always agree with government decisions, nor does it mean we will avoid difficult conversations. It means that before proposing change, we believe leaders have a responsibility to understand the problem, consult those affected, examine the evidence, and consider the consequences.
This approach takes more work. It requires listening instead of lecturing, collaboration instead of polarization, and problem-solving instead of political theatre.
Our Policy Committee is currently hard at work developing CentreBC’s first major policy pillars. These foundational areas focus on many of the most pressing challenges facing British Columbians today, including affordability, healthcare, economic growth, fiscal responsibility, environmental sustainability, and Indigenous relations.
This work is already underway, and we look forward to sharing the results in the weeks and months ahead. As these foundational pillars are completed, they will form the basis for a broader and more comprehensive platform. From there, CentreBC will continue engaging with members, stakeholders, experts, and communities across British Columbia to develop additional policies and refine our vision for the province.
By the time British Columbians next head to the ballot box, our goal is to present a complete, thoughtful, and fully developed platform—one built through evidence, consultation, and practical problem-solving rather than ideology or political theatre.
In a political environment increasingly defined by extremes, CentreBC is committed to leading from the rational middle, where evidence matters, diverse voices are heard, and practical solutions come first.
