FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, SEPT. 22, 2026, VANCOUVER, BC – Today Peter Milobar announced that he and some of the Conservative MLAs will be returning to the BC Conservatives. He did not discuss this with the CentreBC Executive Council.
“We are disappointed that Peter Milobar and others did not stand by commitments made to this party, its Executive Council, and its members,’ says CentreBC President Mike Wignall.
“We all want to remove the NDP government which has caused such harm to our province, but at the end of the day, you also have to stand for something. CentreBC remains committed to our foundational values and will not be selling out to divisive politics.”
“CentreBC has, from the beginning, been building a party for the 51% of British Columbians that want another option to the NDP and the BC Conservatives,” adds Wignall. “One built on pragmatic solutions that work for all BCers. One that does not vilify segments of our population to whip up the base, but does the hard work required to reach positive solutions. That is what we will continue to do.”
“CentreBC will continue as a centrist party, we will field as many candidates as we are able,” adds Wignall. “We hope people will stand with us, in the Centre, and help us build a province based on these values.”
